I made this video to express how I feel about spirituality – the Big Picture, so to speak, and all of the thoughts that I have about how things fit together – life, its meaning, our connection to each other, God, and the Universe, time, and otherworldly beings. It’s pretty packed. 

I think that I could probably make more videos that expand on ideas presented here, but I wanted to ask your opinion about this, and how this video strikes you.

Today is my birthday. I started this blog on my birthday, seven years ago. So every year I write a birthday post. 

I’m 44.

I’ve been seeing the number 44 around me all over the place lately. It’s always something:44 when I look at the clock. My bill is $x.44 anywhere I’m shopping lately. The license plate of the car ahead of me is like a running stream of 4s. The email I click on was written 44 minutes ago, and has 44 words in it. It’s grabbed my attention over and over again.

Here’s the meaning of 44, from a lovely website called Angel Numbers. This is a quote from Joanne Walmsley, from whose website this is shared:

So, this is my year of 44. I like the idea of having a little extra support this year. One reason is that we moved to Maryland a couple months ago, after living in Ohio for…oh, all of our lives. So here, I’m starting over in terms of friends, contacts, business, and finding my way around. 

I do love the area, am meeting new people, and can now successfully navigate to a few places without my GPS. Progress!

Another reason I could use some support is that my new website launched a month ago, and I’m trying to make sure that people know about it. I’m learning marketing, OpenCart, and some coding on the fly – “fly-learning” always seems to be the way I operate. I have big ideas and I’m putting them into play at hyperspeed, trying not to trip over my own feet in the process. Angels, please help me not break anything as I go along!

I have a house in Cleveland (University Heights for anyone who is looking – here’s the listing!) that I’d REALLY like to sell. This is a very good year for some extra angelic help!

But I also recognize how much support I’m already getting. Amazing, fast and surprising things have happened since we moved here. I’ve made friends with people who are just perfect in my life. I have teaching opportunities starting, and more manifesting. I have new ideas which are becoming reality. I have a sense of purpose and confidence that I’m moving in the right direction, despite the pressure to keep the momentum going. 

So, this year in particular, I’m going to make a practice daily of reaching out to my angel helpers to support me in doing all I’m meant to do to live my purpose. Whether little things, or big things, I know that I’m being helped and guided. 

And I’m very grateful to be in this place and time, with my amazing kids and supportive husband, and with the knowledge that my angels are with me.

Hawks

The hawk is called messenger, protector and visionary. Keen vision is one of its greatest gifts. Hawks see things that others miss.

The hawk comes to you indicating that you are now awakening to your soul purpose, your reason for being here. It can teach you to fly high while keeping yourself connected to the ground.

As you rise to a higher level, your psychic energies are awakening and the hawk can help you to keep those senses in balance. Its message to you is to be open to hope and new ideas, to extend the vision of your life.

Let me catch you up, dear readers.

Evan got the job. He starts tomorrow morning. It’s both a relief and very good timing that he will be employed again. It’s a good organization, where he will work with friendly and appreciative people in a job that provides very important support to adults with special needs. We are grateful for this transition to a better situation for Evan and our family.

As for me, though…no one showed up to my classes or the networking group that I had busily promoted and worried over in my last post. At first I was really upset. “What a failure,” my triumphant, snarky, chiding inner voice exclaimed, then adding, “I told you so.” After enduring that for a while, Evan and I took the kids to the playground and, at his coaxing, we walked around brainstorming ways to expand my Reiki practice beyond the classroom. What other opportunities could I explore that could help reach more people? Who would be interested in having me teach or provide Reiki? We started a list. I started feeling better.


In fact, I started really seeing the process of doing this brainstorming as an opportunity that I would not have thought to do without the motivation of the lack of registration for those particular classes. “Maybe,” my more optimistic inner voice countered, “this is the way that big things will start to happen. Wait and see!” And for once, my snarky chiding voice was quiet.


I also would like to publicly thank my wonderful, caring, intuitive friend Amy Oscar for her emails that consoled and helped gently encourage me to evolve my thinking on this situation.


This past week, I went to my teacher and mentor, Connie‘s house, and stayed overnight. When I was driving there, it was a gorgeous day and I noticed a big hawk flying above.

As I arrived, Connie and her business partner, Diana, were emailing with the head of a health, beauty and fitness expo in Strongsville, Ohio, about renting a booth. Turns out, the expo is next weekend (http://womensexpo.org – and please ignore the unfortunate way the words divide when put together that way) and there was a booth available for me too. We got a good deal when they offered to rent two booths instead of one. How perfect! It happens that this expo is the weekend before my next local Kundalini Reiki class starts. Great opportunity to reach and enroll more students.


Connie and Diana helped me brainstorm and plan out more ways to expand my reach, and they also gave me some intuitive advice. That night, Connie and I stayed up doing Soul and Angel card readings, and she also gave me some spiritual guidance. She told me that there is a thin, transparent ceiling above me between my guides and angels and me. She said I should ask them to remove it so that I can feel them with me and hear their guidance all the time. She also told me to ask them how to attract more students. She suggested that I ask them to show me signs, and if I have doubts, to ask for concrete, unmistakeable signs.


On my way home, I was ready to follow Connie’s advice. I started by asking my guides and angels to be present with me. I felt energy. I asked them to remove any and all barriers between me and them so that I could receive their guidance all the time. I asked them to show me a sign if this had worked. Immediately, my attention was caught by a hawk flying above me.


“Yeah, right,” my snarky voice chimed in. “Coincidence.”


I asked for a more concrete, unmistakeable sign. Immediately, two hawks appeared flying above, and one of them was red. My snarky voice shut up.


I still had work to do here with my little meditation, so I got back to it. I had recently met a chiropractor who had invited me to be involved in his practice once he does the renovation in his new space, a couple of months out. So I asked my guides and angels next if I should call him. Another two hawks appeared without a second’s pause. “Cool!” squealed my optimistic voice. I had to agree.


Now came the big part. I told my guides and angels that I wanted to “vibrate for people,” to attract people that are meant to learn Reiki from me to my classes and to find me. I asked if I could visualize myself standing in front of a large classroom filling with happy, excited people, getting ready to teach. I pictured this in my mind and felt happy at the wonderful group, grateful for all of them. I felt a vibration of energy all around me, as if to agree that this would be a good way. Before I could ask for a sign, I counted exactly five hawks rushing out of the nearby trees into the sky, all at the same time, flying in circles. I was astounded and thrilled.


So it all began with a shifting. The shift was from anxiety and disappointment to optimism, hope and excitement. And with the shift came new energy toward my growth, opportunities, and goals. I also have a new resolve to meditate and include my guides and angels in more of my intentions and thoughts.


Since I got home, I feel different and I sense things happening. Registration has started coming in for my new classes. And I met a very amazing person who took an interest in me and we have some unique ways we could help each other. I’ll tell more when things start to materialize, but at this point, it feels like new energy is bringing new possibilities.

Just what I needed.


Today, Evan and I were standing outside on the driveway. “Hey, look!” He pointed above our house. Two hawks were flying overhead. We never see hawks in our small, suburban neighborhood. That is, until now.

Needles and Energy

Yesterday I had acupuncture for the first time. It happened that I met an acupuncturist, Jared West, at Insight Learning and Wellness Center last summer where we were both working at Camp Insight, a holistic day camp. I was teaching Reiki and songwriting, and Jared was doing challenge games with the campers. This summer, he suggested to me that we do a trade. He would give me an acupuncture treatment, and I would give him a Reiki healing. I agreed. I’ve always been a little curious about acupuncture, and I’m not afraid of needles at all.

I’ve also been rather stressed over waiting for registration for many classes I’ve scheduled that are coming up at the start of next week. Enrollment is a little lower than I was anticipating, and my promotional efforts have been huge. So I thought the timing was perfect for a little healing and releasing stress, and this was a great opportunity to try something new.

So I talked for a bit with Jared about my feelings and what’s been going on in my life. He was interested and caring. Then I lay on the table and he placed needles in my ears, head, forehead, arms, stomach, and feet. It did not hurt. He put on nice music and told me to just relax, meditate, rest, whatever I wanted to do and he would check on me in five minutes. I decided it would be great to just meditate a bit and take advantage of quiet time. I closed my eyes. I felt mildly tingly as I noticed energy flowing. I asked my guides what I could do about the enrollment for my upcoming certification program. I felt that I was receiving a response. It sounded like a conversational reply to my question. The response said that I have done all I needed to do, and I should just relax, take this time to care for myself so I can be the best teacher in my ability, and let the students who should be learning with me come. It’s advice I would have given to another person had he asked me the same question, but for some reason, hearing it told to me was very reassuring. I felt myself relax.

Jared came in and asked me how I was doing and I smiled at him and said just fine. He adjusted a few needles and left the room again. I tuned in again, grateful for the chance to quiet my mind. I asked what I could do to attract students more. The answer came again, sounding like I was having a conversation with someone who was always there but who I had not really noticed before. The answer was to shine my light, from the heart. I asked how to do this so it would be noticed. The answer was “intention, silly.” I liked the “silly” addition, because “intention” is a word I am always using when I’m talking about Reiki to my students.

I also asked what I should do to improve my own intuitive growth. Chided again, I was answered that this meditation was an example of something I should do daily. That the intuition is there for me if I could just get quiet enough to notice. It was good advice, and resonated familiarly because I had just told my students at the Increasing Intuition workshop I taught on Monday night that meditation is the most important means to strengthening one’s intuition. More advice I should heed, of course.

Jared came back into the room and asked me how I was doing. He began to remove the needles. I was really relaxed and happy, and felt lots of energy flowing, the stress really gone. As I was telling him that, I noticed a bright, lime green aura appear around his head. I smiled really big and told him what I saw. He laughed, and I laughed too. He said our energy was probably reflecting off each other. It was a nice idea. He left the room again. I kept laughing. Then I started to cry. I think I just needed to release all of the clenched up tension I had been holding for quite some time over all of this.

My acupuncture experience was really great. I felt wonderful for the rest of the day. I was also glad to have been able to share Reiki with Jared, who really enjoyed it as well. We agreed to do another exchange in two weeks, something I’m looking forward to already.

Energy flows in many ways. It’s been great to experience some of the same benefits of a Reiki session in a different modality. I look forward to future opportunities with acupuncture and also whatever other chances I’ll be offered to experience different energy healing modalities.

Building a local Reiki practice is hard work. It starts slowly. I’ve been expecting lots of return for lots of effort. It is coming about, but slowly. Word will spread and more students will find me. The ironic thing is that I was just called on the phone and asked if I could teach Kundalini Reiki for an associate and her client who wants to learn it. I said yes and we planned for Sunday to be the start. Then she said there was another client interested and gave me her number. I called, and that person was added. By the end of the day, I had 5 students enrolled for a class I had not scheduled or put any effort into promoting. I was left shaking my head at the humor in the Universe.

Inspiration from Angels

Something new I’ve done recently is to write for a new book called One Page Wisdom: Book One – Inspirational One-Page Writings from 111 People Worldwide. I have a story in there, as one of the 111 authors. The book is now published, in paperback, and it’s available here as well as Amazon, etc. What I like about it is that you can turn to any page in the book and it feels like you are reading a message meant for you right at this very moment. Lots of people wrote about what inspires them, and there are themes of spirituality, faith, miracles, blessings, gratitude, love, and more. I’m really happy to be a part of it. I think the book makes a good gift too, and I plan to get some to give out as holiday presents this year.

It got me thinking about sources of inspiration. I’ve read that one can receive messages from angels in various forms – snippets of music on the radio or suddenly going through your head, words on a bumper sticker of the car in front of you, an animal crossing your path or showing up in your yard, or turning to a page in a book and finding that the words say just what you needed to hear. Is this real, or is it our attempt to make meaning from seemingly random events? Hard to say concretely, but those who believe and take the messages to heart certainly feel inspired.

I will admit that I’ve had some events like this happen to me. The coincidences seem to be perfectly timed, you know? (The response is: there are no coincidences. Right.) For instance, one day I was driving and I was feeling rather confused wondering about my own intuitive development. I asked the angels to please show me a sign that I’m on the right path, that they really are with me. Two minutes later, a car was driving in front of me with a bumper sticker that had small lettering. Curious, I pulled up closer. It said “Believe.”

Another time, I was sitting at my computer, feeling the same sort of way, doubting myself, feeling frustrated, wondering what to do. I asked the angels to show me a sign that I was doing what I should be, and an email popped up in my inbox right at that moment. It said “Healing Angels has requested you as a friend on Facebook.” I cried, feeling overwhelmed.

Are these things really signs? Well, they could be. Angel experts like Doreen Virtue say that this is how angels communicate with us. I’m open to the idea that messages for me could be there waiting for me to notice, offering guidance, reassurance and love. It’s a comforting thought, and I also think that taking the leap of faith required to receive and accept these messages could be a good thing. It makes one open to receiving more, and that’s part of intuitive development growth.

As I write this, I feel tingles on my face. That’s the sensation that I associate with angels and guidance with me when I’m sending Reiki or giving attunements. When I ask for angelic assistance, I feel tingles and light sensations on my face. It’s like a light caress saying, “We’re here helping you.” I’ve come to believe this is another way I receive validation that the angels are with me. As a sentient person (one who experiences energy through sensations), this is important to me. I’ve learned to interpret various nuances in tingles in my hands and face while sending Reiki as indicators of places where the recipient needs more energy, or has certain physical issues such as pain. When I ask for angelic assistance, I often feel this sensation on my face in response.

So I’ve decided to be open to angelic guidance in all forms, and leave doubts in the background. Why not see what will happen? It couldn’t hurt, and it could open me to receiving more of what I’m looking for – intuitive growth, connection with inspiration and guidance.

Into the Light in 2009

2009 is right around the corner – starting at midnight actually! And I’m wishing everyone a great one, with success, enlightenment, and great joy.

I’ve seen “light” coming at me as a theme lately and so I’m blogging about it today. I’m talking about some energetic developments, new attunements, and learning that I’m beginning now.

I just received the manual for the Lightarian AngelLinks attunement series, and I’m going to schedule the first attunement for some time this week. I’ve been reading it, and it feels like this could be a profound growing and connecting experience. I’m looking forward to the attunements very much. I’ll post on how they feel to me, and also I’ll be able to pass them on, so stay tuned for that. The first one is called Seraph Rose Aura. Click on the link above to learn more. Because this is the “licensed” version from the Lightarian Institute, let’s just say this attunement series wasn’t cheap. But it felt important to me and I pondered it for quite a while before signing up. (I’ll try to offer them back at a discount.)

Also, I mentioned in my last post that this Friday I start learning with Sarah Weiss. Her course, which I hope to take one on one with her is called Light Journey Training. As I’ve been learning more about angels, guides and channeling, I feel that connection with “light beings” such as these are an important part of my learning.

This has represented another shift in my perception of reality. When I began learning about Reiki, I didn’t know about this level of awareness. I wouldn’t have really believed there was more to life than what I had already experienced in terms of spirituality. Actually experiencing physical experiences of the flow of energy changed that for me. It also helped me approach learning about angels and guides with an open mind. Reiki opened up a door that just keeps letting in more light. Hence the theme for today’s blog post!

Moving Energy Around

I had the pleasure and honor to meet Warren Grossman on Thursday evening at the class I’ve been teaching at Akiva High School. He had a roomful of teens riveted as he told his story of going from a basically everyday educated person to having a near-death experience with a parasite, and a slow recovery aided by the Earth. He was never the same once he had the chance to observe the Earth’s effect on his body, healing, heart, and perception of living energy. It was truly inspirational. Second half of class he was just with me and my two students who were present (two were not present and sure missed a lot). He demonstrated energy healing on each student in turn, and they were very moved by the experience. He talked about how he can see their chakras, and the size, shape, color and position of each told him things about where each person needed healing. Amazing.

At the end of class, he took a look at my energy and invited me to come to his home for a healing because he thought I could use it in several places. Not surprising – I know I tend to burn the candle at both ends on a regular basis. I wanted to experience for myself the effects of his healing method so I went on Friday. According to him, I was pretty out of whack energy wise. So he did meditational stuff, had me “feel” where my feet are connected to the ground, and he stood across from me, and kind of pointed at each chakra and did adjustments on them from where he stood. I felt…vibrational energy. He also had me walk around his apartment a few times concentrating on my feet. The feet take in energy from the Earth, so being aware of them is the first step (ha – pun!) to becoming aware of this energy. He did the adjustment two more times, had me walk two more times, and sent me on my way. Although he usually charges for a session, he did not ask me for money. I brought him a Tachyon charged gemstone as a gift of appreciation. The next day I felt pretty sluggish energy wise. His advice to me was to get regular exercise and each day 2-3 times a day to stand back against a tree. I admit I haven’t been able to do those things quite yet due to blechy cold weather. But I’ll get to it…

In Tachyon news… Ole Gabrielson has developed a new Tachyon energy attunement called Tachyon Source attunement. This allows one to charge an object as a source of Tachyon energy – permanently – such that the object will charge other objects it touches and the surrounding air with Tachyon energy (which converts to Life Force Energy – Ki). I have received this attunement and have already passed it on to one person. I’ve been experimenting with charging water, stones, crystals, rocks, the shower head, and disks with this energy. The vibration seems more subtle than Reiki feels to me, yet I do feel it has given me an energy boost during the day, and also during distance energy channeling. The fee will be $25 ($18 if I have attuned you to Kundalini Reiki or Tachyon energy). I will email the manual and offer an emailed certificate as well (if desired). Finally, thanks to my friend Cher for being my mentor in intuitive development. She has guided me in practicing channeling lately. I posted on a Facebook group an offer to channel information if someone has a question, as long as it’s understood that this is for my practice and I make no promises about accuracy. All I ask in return is that I receive feedback afterward. The question should be something the person wants to know – not “What color are my eyes?” but something about your options or future, or something you are wondering about. A little background is appreciated as well. I’ve done this three times now for various people, and it seems as if it is going well. The feedback has been positive and rather validating for me. So consider yourselves, my dear blog readers, also invited to try this with me and present me the opportunity for further practice. Channeling Healing and Receiving Guidance – Different Frequencies

I’ve been made aware recently that channeling energy healing is about being a channel for the energy to flow through us to the recipient of the healing energy. This is about being open, like a straw, so the energy can get through. Higher beings perform the healing.

Attempting to channel information from one’s spirit
guide(s) requires one to raise one’s energetic vibration (through meditation) towards the higher frequency of higher beings (who lower theirs in order to communicate with us) and receive the messages that our guides transmit to us.

Sometimes what happens with me is overlap. I mean that when I’m channeling healing, or getting ready to channel an attunement, I meditate quietly to feel the energy and get in touch with the mindset for setting my intention. The act of meditating in this way, and the meditative state I get into when channeling energy gets me in touch with my higher self and I receive messages, or ask questions and intuit an answer. Also, many Reiki practitioners receive messages from the recipient’s guides during a healing sesion.

But I’ve been told that channeling healing and messages are not necessarily meant to be done together. In other words, if the intent is to communicate with guides, one should be meditating and not involved in healing. If the intent is to channel healing, one should be simply open to being the channel, and any messages that are received are part of that. It’s subtle, a little confusing, and an interesting point.

Where did I get these ideas? I exchanged a reading for channeling a Tachyon attunement with spiritualist medium Merita King and this is what her reading told me, as channeled through a guide of mine. I thought it was interesting enough to share, and for those interested, Merita offers free readings for an exchange of the recipient’s choice (i.e. donation or as the recipient feels moved to reciprocate). She’s got insight and integrity.

Coming Around

I have some nice news… My mother-in-law, (who I’ve mentioned here before) has not had conclusive results the few times I’ve given her Reiki, (and thus has said repeatedly that Reiki “doesn’t work” for her, she doesn’t feel it, etc.). Well last night she was mentioning some muscular type pain in her legs and I offered her Reiki, said “couldn’t hurt” and she agreed. After a few minutes, I commented that my hands were tingling quite a lot, and she surprisedly exclaimed that her feet were too. Then, she said, “And you know what? The pain is completely gone!” She was quite surprised, and I was sooooo glad!! I guess patience and gentle persistence can pay off.

Also, when channeling Reiki lately, I’ve been more consciously asking that the angels and guides of the recipient be present and assist in the healing for this person. Whenever I’ve done so, I’ve felt much stronger energy sensations in my hands, and at times, saw golden lights/ shapes moving behind my closed eyelids. I would like to “see” more but perhaps this is a step in that direction. My hands are most sensitive to Reiki energy, but I want to be able to see more as well so I can learn to interpret the information coming through my hands.

I am planning to learn from Sarah Weiss (www.spirithealonline.com) at the nearest opportunity, which may be January. Her meditations on her website I know I mentioned before, but I really like them. I felt so her energetic work so strongly during our sessions that I am very drawn to learning her methods and becoming attuned to the energy as she is.

Meanwhile, I will continue to strengthen my receptors in working with the higher guidance as much as I can. Tomorrow night I’ll do my first Colors of Angels attunement. I have one more person wanting that attunement, which I’m doing for her next week. Afterward, once I have feedback that all is well, I will post and offer the attunement here.
